Book of Jubilees

A book in the Old Testament pseudepigraphy. It describes the history from the creation of the world to that point, as told to Moses by an angel when he received the stone tablets of the covenant from God on Mount Sinai. It expands on the biblical accounts from Genesis chapter 1 to Exodus chapter 12, adding folklore and Essene interpretations. It regards the solar calendar, consisting of 364 days (52 weeks) per year, as the only sacred calendar, and divides world history into 49 jubilees, with 1 jubilee = 7 weeks of years = 49 years, and sets history within an absolute calendar that begins with the creation of the world.
