A type of spinning method for chemical fibers. The raw polymer compound is heated and melted, extruded from a spinneret (nozzle) into air or water at a constant speed, and cooled and solidified into fibers to produce fibers. Since no solvent or coagulation liquid is used, high-speed spinning is possible, but the melt is susceptible to oxidation and thermal decomposition, and its fluidity is sensitive to temperature, so consideration must be given to shortening the time in the molten state and accurate temperature control. There are the following spinning methods depending on the raw material. (1) Melt lattice spinning method Used for polyamide, polyester, etc. (2) Screw extrusion spinning method Widely used for nylon, polyester, vinylidene chloride copolymer, polyolefin, etc. (3) Continuous polymerization spinning method Used to produce 6-nylon fiber. Melt spinning is an extremely efficient spinning method used to produce fibers such as polyamide, polyester, vinylidene chloride, polyolefin, glass, and rock.
