Died: September 15, 1938, Baltimore, Maryland. American author. While studying at the University of North Carolina, he developed an interest in theater and continued his studies at Harvard University. He later taught at New York University and traveled to Europe. In 1926, he began writing novels, his first autobiographical work, Look Homeward, Angel (1929). He soon left teaching and published the sequel, Of Time and River (35), and wrote a huge manuscript, consciously written in an "objective" style, using his own life as material, but it was not published during his lifetime. This posthumous work was published as The Web and the Rock (39) and You Can't Go Home Again (40), and together with the first two works, they constitute a grand American epic, an autobiographical saga of a wandering spirit that continues to absorb everything as if possessed by hunger. His other works include a collection of short stories, From Death to Morning (35), and a creative essay, The Story of a Novel (36).

Full name Thomas Kennerly Wolfe, Jr. After graduating from Washington and Lee University, he obtained his PhD from Yale University. While active in journalism, contributing to magazines such as New York and Esquire, he also wrote novels such as The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test (1968), which are characterized by a psychedelic style that makes full use of slang, jargon, and neologisms, and which use popular topics such as beats, hippies, yippies, and hallucinogens. He also co-edited the anthology The New Journalism (1973), as a pioneer of new journalism, which values ​​the author's subjectivity and uses various forms to convey reality. Other works include the astronaut record The Right Stuff (1979) and The Bonfire of the Vanities (1987).

From her early work, Jacob's Room (1922), she experimentally reexamined the plot and character concepts of traditional novels, and established a method of describing the "stream of consciousness" of characters whose characters change from moment to moment in works such as Mrs. Dalloway (25) and To the Lighthouse (27). She also made a great contribution to the establishment of modern novel techniques with Orlando (28), which incorporates a new concept of time, and the symbolic The Waves (31). Her other works include The Common Reader (vol. 2, pp. 25, 32), a collection of essays filled with feminine sensibility, and A Writer's Diary (53), edited by her husband. She committed suicide during World War II.

Died September 13, 1759. British soldier in Quebec. Participated in the suppression of the Forty-five Years Rebellion, served in the Scottish Army (1749-52), military attaché in Paris (52-53), and quartermaster general of the Irish Army (57-58). When the Seven Years' War began, he served in the French and Indian War in North America in 1758, which was one phase of the war, and distinguished himself in the Battle of Louisbourg before returning home. The following year, he became commander of the army that captured Quebec, and continued to lead despite being seriously wounded. He was killed in battle when he received news that the city had been successfully captured.
