Hideaki Ishikawa

1893-1955 An urban engineer from the Taisho to Showa eras.
Born on September 7, 1893. Joined the Ministry of Home Affairs in 1920 and was involved in urban planning for Nagoya City. Became an engineer for Tokyo Metropolitan Government in 1943 and contributed to the postwar development of the capital region. Became Director of the Construction Bureau in 1948. Later became a professor at Waseda University. President of the City Planning Association of Japan. Died on September 25, 1955. Age 62. Born in Yamagata Prefecture. Graduated from Tokyo Imperial University. Written works include "Urban Planning and National Land Planning."

明治26年9月7日生まれ。大正9年内務省にはいり,名古屋市の都市計画にたずさわる。昭和18年東京都技師となり,戦後の首都圏開発につくす。23年建設局長。のち早大教授。日本都市計画学会会長。昭和30年9月25日死去。62歳。山形県出身。東京帝大卒。著作に「都市計画および国土計画」など。
