Yabu [town] - Yoka
A former town in Yabu County in northern Hyogo Prefecture. The main settlement at the confluence of the Maruyama River and its tributary, the Yagi River, is served by the San'in Main Line and National Route 9, and is the bus transportation hub of the Tajima region. It is the home of Tajima beef, and also has a large livestock complex for pigs and broilers. It also produces cedar seedlings, sweetfish, and silk textiles. In April 2004, it merged with Yabu Town, Oya Town, and Sekinomiya Town in Yabu County to form Yabu City. 77.06 km2 . Population: 11,812 (2003).
