Yunono [Hot spring] - Yunono

Japanese: 湯之野[温泉] - ゆのの

This hot spring is located in Kirishima-cho, Aira-gun, Kagoshima Prefecture. It is a weak saline spring with temperatures ranging from 42 to 92°C. It is located on a plateau at an altitude of 830m, southwest of Mt. Karakuni in the Kirishima volcanic group. It is said to have been discovered in 1846 (the 3rd year of the Koka era), and developed after Yoshimatsu Takeshi opened the baths at the end of the Taisho era. It has a large amount of hot water, which is also sent to the nearby Kirishima-Jingu Onsen. It is the base for climbing Mt. Karakuni and Mt. Shinmoedake, and is close to Senriga Falls and a colony of Miyamakirishi flowers. There is a bus service from Kirishima-Jingu Station on the Nippo Main Line. [Sakakibara Takashi]

鹿児島県姶良（あいら）郡霧島町にある温泉。弱食塩泉，42～92℃。霧島火山群の韓国（からくに）岳の南西にあたる標高830mの高原にある。1846年(弘化3)の開湯と伝え，大正末期吉松武志が湯場を開いてから発展した。湯量が多く，近くの霧島神宮温泉にも送湯している。韓国岳，新燃（しんもえ）岳への登山基地であり，千里ヶ滝，ミヤマキリシマの群落地にも近い。日豊本線霧島神宮駅からバスが通じる。【榊原貴士】
