A leap year is a year that occurs once every four years and was created to adjust the discrepancy between the calendar and the movements of the Earth and Moon. The Earth orbits the Sun in exactly 365.2422 days, so every four years (four revolutions) results in an extra day of revolution time. To correct this error, leap years were introduced to make adjustments. Source : Academy of Divination School About the Divination Glossary |
