Yuto [town] - Yuto

Japanese: 雄踏[町] - ゆうとう

A former town in Hamana District, southwest Shizuoka Prefecture. Facing the southeastern shore of Lake Hamana, the southern part is divided into two districts, Ubumi and Yamazaki. It is an eel farming area, and the musical instrument and auto parts industries are also thriving. The Nakamura family residence (an important cultural property) is located in Ubumi. In July 2005, it was incorporated into Hamamatsu City along with Tenryu City, Hamakita City, Haruno Town in Shuchi District, Sakuma Town in Iwata District, Misakubo Town, Tatsuyama Village, Maisaka Town in Hamana District, Hosoe Town, Inasa Town, and Mikkabi Town in Inasa District. 8.15 ^km2 . Population: 13,896 (2003).

静岡県南西部，浜名郡の旧町。浜名湖南東岸に臨み，南部は宇布見(うぶみ)，山崎の２地区に分かれる。ウナギ養殖地で，楽器・自動車部品工業も盛ん。宇布見に中村家住宅（重要文化財）がある。2005年７月天竜市，浜北市，周智郡春野町，磐田郡佐久間町，水窪町，龍山村，浜名郡舞阪町，引佐郡細江町，引佐町，三ヶ日町と浜松市へ編入。8.15km²。１万3896人（2003）。
