〘Noun〙 The original version of Kinpira Joruri. A six-section book with small print and illustrations. In addition to the original version, there is also a version published simply as reading material around Genroku ( 1688-1704 ), characterized by large, exaggerated illustrations of Kinpira's head and eyes. It refers broadly to old Joruri books, and can also refer to akahon books and other such books that feature tales of Kinpira and similar bravery. 〘名〙金平浄瑠璃の正本。絵入りの細字本で六段。正本のほか、元祿（一六八八‐一七〇四）頃に単に読み物として出版したものもいい、金平の頭と目を大きく誇張した挿絵が特徴。広く古浄瑠璃本をさし、また、赤本などで金平やそれに類する勇武の物語を扱ったものをいうこともある。きんぴら。※談義本・当風辻談義（1753）四「終に金平本(キンピラボン)一冊読だ事なきものも、よんで嬉しがったに」
