A sharebon (joke book). A small volume. Published in Edo around 1770 (Meiwa 7). The true identity of the author, a country old man named Tada-jii (old man), may be Tamba-ya Rihei mentioned in Shinno Meidan (written by Heiji Tosaku). Tamba-ya was a book store in Osaka, but after 1761 (Horeki 11) it was active in Edo as Bunrin-do. The story is about a man who pretends to be an expert and takes his naive son to Yoshiwara to prove his expertise, but ends up exposing his half-expert status and being hated, which makes the son more popular. This established the standard sharebon format of a short pleasure village novel based on realism and humor. In the humorous book "Kesaku Hyoban Hana no Orikami" (1802), he was referred to as "the founder of Kogaki Ishiya Utsuke."
