An abandoned temple in Ukyo Ward, Kyoto City. It was built for Emperor Gosuzaku in 1055 (Tenki 3). It flourished as an imperial-prayer temple attached to Ninna-ji Temple, and was called Shien-ji Temple along with Engyo-ji Temple, Enyuji Temple, and Ensoji Temple.
