A deciduous tall tree of the family Combriaceae, found wild or cultivated in the tropics of Asia. Native to Malaysia. It grows to a height of 10-40m and a diameter of 1m. The leaves, which have long petioles, are alternate and gathered at the ends of twigs, are heart-shaped with pointed tips, large, 20-60cm long, and have dense brown hairs on the underside of the veins. The flowers are axillary, female flowers are solitary, while male flowers are in racemes consisting of several flowers, and are usually dioecious.
