Yazume no Mushimaro - Yazume no Mushimaro

Japanese: 矢集蟲麻呂 - やずめのむしまろ

A scholar of the Nara period. Dates of birth and death unknown. He also wrote the Yanshu and Mushimaro. In 721 (Yoro 5), he was awarded a prize along with Shioya Yoshimaro for his achievements in Myoho (Myobodo). At the time he was ranked Jorokui Jo. He was later promoted to Jūgo Fifth Rank Ge. He participated in the compilation of the Yoro Code and was awarded five cho of land for merit. In September 732 (Tenpyō 4), he was appointed Daijōji, and in October of the same year he was transferred to Daigaku-gō (Graduate School). Two of his Chinese poems are included in the Kaifu-mō. He was a master of the law with a talent for poetry, and is listed in the Fujiwara Kaden as one of the senior Confucian scholars of the time.

奈良時代の学者。生没年不詳。箭集，虫麻呂にもつくる。721年(養老5)明法(明法道（みようぼうどう）)の功により塩屋吉麻呂とともに恩賞をうけた。ときに正六位上。のち外従五位下に昇叙される。養老律令の撰修に加わり，功田5町を下賜された。732年(天平4)9月大判事に任官し，同年10月大学頭に遷任している。《懐風藻》に漢詩が2首とられている。詩才もある法律の大家で，《藤原家伝》下に当時の宿儒の一人とされている。
