Sakanoue no Korenori

Sakanoue no Korenori
Years of birth: unknown. A poet of the Heian period. Son of Yoshikage, descendant of Sakanoue no Tamuramaro. He served as Yamato Gonshojo, Shokanmon, Chukanmon, Shonaiki, Ouchiki, and Kaga no Suke. He reached the rank of Junior Fifth Rank. He made his debut in the world of poetry by submitting poems to the Ki-shisho Kyokusui-en waka in 901 (Engi 1) and the Udaisho Sadakuni Fortieth Celebration Screen Poem in 902 (Udaisho Sadakuni 5), along with Ki-no-Tsurayuki and Bonkawachi Munehisa. As a budding poet, he had eight poems included in the Kokinshu. He continued to be active after that, appearing in the Oigawa Gyoko waka in 903 and the Teishi-in Uta-awase in 904. His family anthology includes the Kosenshu. He was later selected as one of the Thirty-six Immortal Poets, and was highly regarded by posterity, with his representative work, "Asaborake Ariake no Tsuki to Miru Made Yoshino no Sato ni Fureru Shirayuki" (The Morning Morning Moon Over Yoshino Village Touches White Snow), included in the Hyakunin Isshu. <References> Shigemi Tokuhara, "Kore-nori" ("A Lecture on Kokin Wakashu")

平安時代の歌人。坂上田村麻呂の子孫,好蔭の子。大和権少掾,少監物,中監物,少内記,大内記,加賀介などを歴任。従五位下に至る。延喜1(901)年の紀師匠曲水宴和歌や同5年の右大将定国四十賀屏風歌に紀貫之,凡河内躬恒らと共に詠進して歌壇にデビュー。『古今集』には新進歌人として8首の入集をみた。その後も,同7年の『大井河行幸和歌』や同13年の亭子院歌合に出詠するなど活躍。家集に『是則集』がある。のちに三十六歌仙に選ばれるなど後世の評価も高く代表作「あさぼらけ有明の月とみるまでによしのの里にふれる白雪」が百人一首にとられている。<参考文献>徳原茂実「是則」(『一冊の講座古今和歌集』)
