〘 noun 〙 In Japanese music, one of the classifications of music for teaching purposes. ⇔ Omote-gumi. ① One of the shamisen group songs. Written by Yanagawa Kengyo, it consists of seven pieces: "Shizu," " Nishikigi ," "Aoyagi," "Hayafune," "Hachiman," "Misu," and "Nayoshi." ② One of the koto group songs. Created by Yatsuhashi Kengyo during the Jokyo era ( 1684-88 ) following the example of ①. It consists of seven pieces: " Kumonoue ," "Usugoromo," "Kiritsubo," " Suma ," "Shikikyoku," "Ogikyoku," and "Kumoikyoku."
