A scholar of Japanese classics in the late Edo period. Son of Hamada Kōsō of Nagoya, Owari. Childhood name Hamada Kamajirō, commonly known as Kyūjirō, Yasujirō, and Yashiro. Pen names Takakuni and Akitsu. Alternative pen names Momengaki and Shinen. From an early age, he studied a wide range of subjects, including Noh plays, arithmetic, tea ceremony, swordsmanship, and jūjutsu, and showed great talent. At the age of 15, he began reading the works of Motoori Norinaga at the invitation of Shimizu Tadayoshi, and at the age of 18, he listened to Uematsu Arinobu's reading of The Tale of Genji. At the age of 24, he listened to Suzuki Rin's lecture on The Kojiki, and at the age of 27, he became a student of Ichioka Takehiko. At the age of 28, he traveled to Edo to study and interacted with scholars of Japanese classics such as Shimizu Hamaomi and comic writers such as Ishikawa Masamochi. At the age of 29, in 1820 (Bunsei 3), he became a student of Motoori Ohira. In 1831 (Tempō 2), at the age of 40, he was adopted by Motoori Ohira and changed his name to Uchien. He served Tokugawa Nariyuki, the lord of the Kishu (Wakayama) domain, and selected "Kii Zoku Fudoki" (1839) by order. From 1851 (Kaei 4), he lectured at the domain's Shinto Studies Center. In 1854 (Ansei 1), he became a professor at the Kogakukan (Ancient Learning Institute) in the domain's Edo residence, but died in Edo the following year.

江戸後期の国学者。尾張名古屋の浜田孝祖の子。幼名浜田鎌次郎,通称久次郎,安次郎,弥四郎。号高国,秋津。別号を木綿垣,榛園。幼少より謡曲,算術,茶道,剣法,柔術など広く学び才能を発揮,15歳のとき清水忠美の誘いで本居宣長の著述を読み始め,18歳のとき植松有信の『源氏物語』講読を聞く。24歳,鈴木朖 の『古事記』講義を聞き,27歳,市岡猛彦に入門,28歳のとき,江戸に遊学して清水浜臣ら国学者や石川雅望ら戯作者と交わった。29歳の文政3(1820)年,本居大平に入門。天保2(1831)年,40歳のとき,本居大平の養子となり内遠と改めた。紀州(和歌山)藩主徳川斉順に仕え,命によって『紀伊続風土記』(1839)を選定した。嘉永4(1851)年より藩の神道学問所において講義した。安政1(1854)年,江戸藩邸内の古学館教授となったが,翌年江戸で没した。
