It is a Mongolian language that exists in isolation in Afghanistan, far away from other Mongolian languages. There has not been much research on this language, but there has been early research by GJ Ramsted of Finland, and in 1955 an academic expedition sent from Kyoto University in Japan, as well as research by M. Weiers of Germany in the late 1970s, and the outline of the language is gradually becoming known. Mogolian is thought to be the language of the descendants of the Mongolians who lived in the country during the Yuan Dynasty in the 13th century, and while it retains ancient linguistic features, it has also undergone some changes not seen in other Mongolian languages. One example of an ancient feature is the survival of the syllables qï and ï, which are now lost in all Mongolian languages. In other dialects, the syllables have changed from qï to ki, ï to ɡi.
