Mogolian - Mogolgo

It is a Mongolian language that exists in isolation in Afghanistan, far away from other Mongolian languages.

There has not been much research on this language, but there has been early research by GJ Ramsted of Finland, and in 1955 an academic expedition sent from Kyoto University in Japan, as well as research by M. Weiers of Germany in the late 1970s, and the outline of the language is gradually becoming known.

Mogolian is thought to be the language of the descendants of the Mongolians who lived in the country during the Yuan Dynasty in the 13th century, and while it retains ancient linguistic features, it has also undergone some changes not seen in other Mongolian languages. One example of an ancient feature is the survival of the syllables qï and ï, which are now lost in all Mongolian languages. In other dialects, the syllables have changed from qï to ki, ï to ɡi.

モンゴル系の他の諸言語から、はるか遠くに離れたアフガニスタンに孤立して存在するモンゴル系の一言語である。

　この言語の研究は多くはないが、古くフィンランドのラムステッドG. J. Ramstedの研究があり、また1955年にはわが国の京都大学から派遣された学術探検隊によって調査され、さらに、1970年代の後半のドイツのバイエルM. Weiersの調査研究もみられ、徐々にこの言語の概要が知られてきている。

　モゴール語は、13世紀の元朝時代の駐留モンゴル人の後裔(こうえい)の言語と考えられ、古い言語的特徴を保持している一方で、他のモンゴル系言語にはみられない変化を遂げた部分もある。古い特徴を保持した例として、現在では、いかなるモンゴル系の言語も失った音節qïとïの残存がみられる。他の諸方言ではqï＞ki, ï＞ɡiの変化を遂げている。
