Seimin Murata

Japanese: 村田整珉 - むらたせいみん

1761-1837 A metal caster from the late Edo period.
Born on August 13, 1768. Born in Edo. A disciple of Tagawa Minbu. A master of wax casting, he made ornaments, vases, Buddhist altar implements, and other items. His adopted son, Kimura Toun, succeeded him as the second generation, and his biological son, Senjiro, succeeded him as the third generation. He passed away on November 24, 1830. He was 77 years old. His real surname was Kimura. He was commonly known as Sojiro. His other name was Kitagyokuso.

宝暦11年8月13日生まれ。江戸の人。田川珉武の門人。蝋型(ろうがた)鋳造の名手で,置物,花瓶,仏具などをつくった。養子の木村渡雲が2代,実子の仙次郎が3代をつぐ。天保(てんぽう)8年11月24日死去。77歳。本姓は木村。通称は総次郎。別号に北玉叟。
