Musawarat es Sufra (English spelling)
An archaeological site in the Butana desert in the Democratic Republic of Sudan. It is located about 100 km southwest of Meroe. The palace is surrounded by temples, residences for officials and priests, stables, a trading post, and an arena (fighting arena), and it is the largest archaeological site in the Kingdom of Kush, along with Meroe. In the 1960s, the Lion Temple was excavated, and irrigation facilities were newly discovered. The names of the queens who ruled here are also known, including Candake, Naldamak, and Amanitere.
