Musawarat es Sufra (English spelling)

Japanese: ムサワラット･エス･スフラ（英語表記）Musawarat es Sufra

An archaeological site in the Butana desert in the Democratic Republic of Sudan. It is located about 100 km southwest of Meroe. The palace is surrounded by temples, residences for officials and priests, stables, a trading post, and an arena (fighting arena), and it is the largest archaeological site in the Kingdom of Kush, along with Meroe. In the 1960s, the Lion Temple was excavated, and irrigation facilities were newly discovered. The names of the queens who ruled here are also known, including Candake, Naldamak, and Amanitere.

スーダン民主共和国のブタナButana砂漠にある遺跡。メロエの南西約100kmに位置する。宮殿を中心に神殿，官吏や神官の住居，厩，交易所，アレーナ(闘技場)などが取り巻き，メロエとならぶクシュ王国最大の遺跡である。1960年代に〈ライオン神殿〉が発掘され，灌漑設備などが新たに見いだされた。カンダケCandake，ナルダマクNaldamak，アマニテレAmanitereなど，ここを支配した女王の名前も知られている。
