A literary method advocated in the Soviet Union at the end of the Stalin era. In Soviet society, where class antagonism and antagonistic contradictions had disappeared, there was no realistic basis for the "conflict" that had long been the basis of playwrights. At best, there was only a "conflict between good and better," and it was argued that Soviet playwrights must take this fact into account and move forward on a new path. This theory, formulated by playwright Nikolai Evgen'evich Virta (1906-76) and others, was criticized in 1952 by the Communist Party's organ newspaper, Pravda, but the problem was not limited to playwrights; the theory was a concentrated expression of the general tendency in Soviet literature, which had been afraid to depict the negative aspects of reality and had instead romanticized reality since the criticism of Zhdanov.

スターリン時代末期にソ連邦で唱えられた文学方法。階級対立や敵対的矛盾が消滅したソ連社会においては，古くから劇作の基本とされてきた〈葛藤〉のための現実的基盤がない。せいぜい〈よきものと，よりよきものとの葛藤〉が存在するだけであり，ソ連の劇作はそのことを踏まえて新しい道に進まなければならないと説かれた。劇作家ビルタNikolai Evgen’evich Virta(1906‐76)らによって定式化されたこの理論は，1952年に共産党機関紙《プラウダ》によって批判されたが，問題は劇作にかぎらず，この理論が，ジダーノフ批判以後，現実の否定面を描くことを恐れ，現実を美化してきたソ連文芸の全般的傾向の集中的表現であった点にあった。
