Occupying the western part of Mukojima in Mitsugi District, Hiroshima Prefecture, this old town includes Iwashi Island to the west. The town is connected to the Honshu-Shikoku Bridge, Onomichi-Imabari Route, the Nishiseto Expressway (Shimanami Kaido). In addition to vegetables and flowers, mandarin oranges are cultivated on the mountain slopes. Fishing is also practiced.
