Education that cultivates the attitude and ability of members of a nation as a group that shares a common culture to independently pursue their own economic, social, and cultural development. It is similar to education in nationalism, but this refers to the education of the people of a modern nation, and national education and ethnic education do not necessarily coincide. For example, in Japan, it is often thought that the two are the same, but the Japanese people as a nation also include the Ainu people, so they do not coincide. Furthermore, the term ethnic education often refers to education for the independence and liberation of colonial and semi-colonial ethnic groups and ethnic minorities, and the sense of resistance and desire for liberation of these ethnic groups are often included in this term.
