...Some varieties have crepe-like leaves. They are widely cultivated in Kyushu, and there are varieties such as "Nagasaki Takana," "Miike Takana," and "Katsuona." Succulent Takana was introduced from China long ago, but the current varieties were introduced from Sichuan Province in 1905 and became indigenous to various parts of Japan, becoming "Yamagata Aona" and "Yanagagawa Takana."
