Mine [town] - Mine
A former town in Kamiagata County, Nagasaki Prefecture. Located in the center of Tsushima, the town is engaged in agriculture and fishing. Most of the town area is covered by forests, and forestry is also thriving. The standing Buddha statue at Tsushima Province Ichinomiya Kaijin Shrine in Kizaka is an Important Cultural Property, and the town is also famous for its festivals. In March 2004, the town merged with Izuhara Town, Mitsushima Town, and Toyotama Town in Shimoagata County, Kamiagata Town in Kamiagata County, and Kamitsushima Town to form Tsushima City. Area: 72.44 km2 . Population: 2,808 (2003).
