The second son of Uda Genji and Minamoto no Shunsuke. He was a Junior Fifth Rank and a Daishin (senior officer) to the Empress's Court. He was active in the poetry circles of Emperor Horikawa, and was known to have contributed poems up until the "Sumiyoshi Poetry Contest" in 1128. He has seven poems in the imperial anthologies, including the "Kin'yō Wakashu" and others. [Proverbs, etc.] The Suma barrier guard was kept awake for many nights by the cries of the plovers passing through Awaji Island ("Ogura Hyakunin Isshu").
