King of the Parthian Arsacid dynasty. Reigned 124/123 BC - 88/87 BC. Also known as Mithradates II. After the death of Mithridates I, he began to rebuild the empire, which had been in decline. He subjugated the kingdoms of Karakene in southern Babylonia, advanced into northern Mesopotamia, subjugated the kingdoms of Adiabene, Gordiene, and Osroene, and occupied Dura-Europos. In the early 1st century BC, he brought the Kingdom of Armenia under Parthian influence, achieving control over a wide area from the Iranian plateau to the Euphrates River.

アルサケス朝パルティアの王。在位，前124か123‐前88か87年。ミトラダテス2世Mithradates IIともいう。ミトリダテス1世亡きあと後退をつづけてきた帝国の再建に着手。バビロニア南部のカラケネを従え，北メソポタミアに進出してアディアベネ，ゴルディエネ，オスロエネの3王国を服属させ，ドゥラ･エウロポス(ドゥラ･ユーロポス)を占領した。前1世紀初めにはアルメニア王国をパルティアの勢力下におさめ，イラン高原からユーフラテス川に至る広域支配を達成した。
