Year of death: September 28, 1610 (November 13, 1610) Year of birth: Tenbun 17 (1548) The first lord of Shibata Domain in Echigo Province (Niigata Prefecture). Katsumasa's eldest son. His childhood name was Takemaru. Kaneemon-no-jo Sadakatsu. Born in Mizoguchi Village, Nakajima County, Owari Province (Inazawa City, Aichi Prefecture). He served Niwa Nagahide, and in April 1581, Oda Nobunaga gave him Takahama Castle in Wakasa Province with a stipend of 5,000 koku. After Nagahide's death in 1581, he was ordered by Hashiba (Toyotomi) Hideyoshi to become a yoriki (assistant vassal) for Hori Hidemasa. In November of the following year, he was appointed as Jugo no Ge (Junior Fifth Rank) and Hoki no Kami (Lord of Hoki), and changed his name to Hidekatsu. He later participated in many battles under Hideyoshi. In April 1598, Hidemasa's son Hideharu was transferred to Echigo, and he was given Shibata Castle with a stipend of 60,000 koku. In the Battle of Sekigahara in 1592, he sided with the Tokugawa, and was granted relief on his territory. 没年:慶長15.9.28(1610.11.13) 生年:天文17(1548) 越後国(新潟県)新発田藩初代藩主。勝政の長男。幼名竹丸。金右衛門尉定勝。尾張国中島郡溝口村(愛知県稲沢市)に生まれる。丹羽長秀に仕え,天正9(1581)年4月,織田信長より若狭国高浜城5000石を与えられる。同14年長秀の死後,羽柴(豊臣)秀吉の命で堀秀政の与力となる。翌年11月従五位下,伯耆守に任ぜられ,秀勝と改名。その後,秀吉のもとで歴戦に参加。慶長3(1598)年4月,秀政の子秀治の越後移封に伴い新発田城6万石を与えられる。同5年の関ケ原の戦では徳川方に属して,所領を安堵されている。墓所は新発田城下の大麟寺。<参考文献>『新発田市史』上 (長谷川弘道) 出典 朝日日本歴史人物事典:(株)朝日新聞出版朝日日本歴史人物事典について 情報 |
