Father and Son - Chichitoko (English spelling) Ottsï i deti

Father and Son - Chichitoko (English spelling) Ottsï i deti

A full-length novel by Russian author Turgenev, published in 1862. It depicts the generational conflict between father and son in the 1960s. Bazarov, a young medical student, is a "nihilist" who denies all established authority. He does not accept art, philosophy, or religion, because their truth cannot be scientifically proven. Pavel Kirsanov, a liberal intellectual from the 1940s, hates Bazarov, a modern young man who is trying to completely overturn the worldview of his generation, and is in sharp conflict with him. Bazarov is a typical example of an active intellectual who emerged from among the common people after the emancipation of the serfs. The author saw a revolutionary in this nihilist.
