Also called Miare Festival. A festival held at Kamo Wakeikazuchi Shrine in Kyoto. It is held on the night of May 12th, and refers to the process in which the divine spirit descends into the sacred tree (himorogi) and travels to the main shrine to be enshrined. "Miare" means appearance or birth, and refers to the appearance or descent of a god from heaven. 御阿礼祭ともいう。京都賀茂別雷神社の祭事。5月 12日夜に行われ,神霊が神籬 (ひもろぎ) に降臨し,本社に神幸して鎮座するまでの過程をいう。「みあれ」は出現,誕生の意で,神の出現,天降りをいう。
