Pure Land Theory - Jodoron

Japanese: 浄土論 - じょうどろん

A treatise on Indian Pure Land Buddhism. Its correct title is the Upadesha Aspirations for Rebirth in the Muryoju Sutra. It is also called the Treatise on the Muryoju Sutra or Treatise on Rebirth in the Pure Land. It is said to have been written by Vasubandu (Vasuppati or Vasubandu). The original Sanskrit text no longer exists, and only a Chinese translation (translated by Bodhiruci, first half of the 6th century) remains. It consists of verses (verses) and long lines (prose) that explain them, and the latter in particular preaches the Five Gates of Remembrance as a way to be reborn in the Pure Land.

インド浄土教の論書。正しくは《無量寿経優婆提舎願生偈（むりようじゆきよううばだいしやがんしようげ）》。《無量寿経論》《往生論》ともいう。バスバンドゥVasubandu(世親または天親)の著とされる。サンスクリット語原典は現存せず，漢訳(菩提流支（ぼだいるし）訳，6世紀前半)のみ現存。偈頌(韻文)とそれを解説した長行（じようごう）(散文)の部分からなり，特に後者においては，浄土往生の方法として〈五念門〉を説いている。
