One of the four Gospels in the New Testament. Together with the Gospels of Matthew and Luke, it is called a synoptic Gospel. It is the oldest and shortest of the four Gospels, including the Gospel of John, and was used to edit both the Gospels of Matthew and Luke. For a very long time it was thought to be a summary of the Gospel of Matthew. Its content focuses on describing Jesus' activities and the circumstances in which they took place. It is believed to have been written in Rome around 50 AD, but there is some debate.
