Utari no Tsu - Utari no Tsu

...Population: 14,928 (1995). The name Utazu comes from the wharf of the old county, Utari-gun (Utari no Tsu). During the Muromachi period, the residence of the shogunate governor Hosokawa Yoriyuki was established here, and it became the political center of Sanuki. The port was also developed, and many temples were built there.
