Ando Izutsudo

...In the 1872 (Meiji 5) edition of the Tokyo Nichi Nichi Shimbun, the first product advertisement was for the perfume "Sakurasui" by Yoshiya Ruemon, Yoshimachi, Tokyo. From around 1880, Izutsuya's "Perfume", Hirao Sanpei's "Rose Perfume", Morita Hoshu's "Pure Fragrance, White Rose", and Ando Izutsudo's "Original Perfume" were on sale. Also famous among the imported perfumes were Woodworth's "Washi Brand Perfume", "Nihon Musume" (also known as Woiran), Roger & Gallé's "Kinpuru Brand", Rigaud's "Tsuru Perfume, Hina Perfume", and Atkinson's "White Rose". ...

…1872年(明治5)の《東京日日新聞》には，香水〈桜水〉東京親父橋芳町よしや留右衛門の広告が，商品広告の最初に掲載されている。1880年ころから井筒屋の〈香水〉，平尾賛平の〈薔薇製香水〉，守田宝舟の〈素馨香･白薔薇〉，安藤井筒堂の〈オリヂナル香水〉などが売り出された。また舶来ではウッドワースの〈わし印香水〉〈日本ムスメ〉(別名ヲイラン)，ロジェ･アンド･ガレの〈金弗印〉，リゴーの〈鶴香水･ヒナ香水〉，アトキンソンの〈ホワイトローズ〉などが有名だった。…
