〘 noun 〙① (━suru) To decide a time and place in advance and wait for someone else to be together. Also, that place. A rendezvous. ※Mai Shogouma (1658), volume 1 "The local song was bothering us, and we ended up waiting for each other."② (━suru) In particular, when a man and a woman make a rendezvous. A secret rendezvous. ※Ninjyohon Shuniro Tatsumien (1833-35), volume 4 "Even when we waited for letters, Yonehachi caught our ears and eyes countless times."③ A place where guests meet at tea ceremonies and prepare to take their seats. It can be set up as an independent building in the outer garden, or part of a house can be used for this purpose.
