Weka - Weka

...This was institutionalized in the land division system, which continued until the land reform of 1899-1903. Terms characterizing kinship relationships include weka, harauji, monchu, and chuchode. Monchu are characterized by tracing genealogy through the male line and giving priority to the eldest son, and this idea is strong in the central and southern parts of Okinawa Island.
