Mother Complex

A term referring to excessive attachment or fixation on one's mother. However, this is a common usage along with its often-used contraction "mamacon", and the corresponding psychoanalytic term is "mother fixation". Incidentally, excessive attachment or fixation on one's father is called "father complex" (correctly "father fixation"). 母親に対する過度の愛着や執着をさす語。しかしこれはしばしば使用されるその短縮表現である〈マザコン〉とともに通俗的な用法であり，これに照応する精神分析の用語は〈母親固着mother fixation〉である。なお，父親に対する過度の愛着や執着は，〈ファーザー･コンプレクスfather complex〉(正しくは〈父親固着father fixation〉)とよばれる。固着コンプレクス【下坂 幸三】
