One of America's leading defense contractors. Develops and produces fighter planes, missiles, and other equipment for the Department of Defense and the Army, Navy, and Air Force. Headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri. The F4 Phantom used in the Vietnam War was one of our products. The company also manufactures large jet passenger aircraft for commercial airlines. Founded in Maryland in 1939 as McDonnell Aircraft Corp. In 1966, the company changed its name to McDonnell Co. In 1967, the company merged with Douglas Aircraft Co. Inc. (established in 1920), famous for its passenger aircraft, to form the current company name.

アメリカを代表する軍需企業。アメリカ国防総省および陸･海･空の3軍向けに戦闘機，ミサイルなどを開発･生産する。本社ミズーリ州セント･ルイス。ベトナム戦争で使用されたF4ファントムは当社の製品。また，民間航空会社向けに大型ジェット旅客機も製造する。1939年McDonnell Aircraft Corp.としてメリーランド州に設立。66年McDonnell Co.に社名変更。67年旅客機で有名なダグラス社Douglas Aircraft Co.Inc.(1920設立)を合併して現社名となる。
