A Shintoist of the Suika school in the early to mid-Edo period. Commonly known as Kunai, his pen names were Terumi and Jujosai. Born February 12, 1271. A samurai with a stipend of 2,500 koku. He first learned Yoshida Shinto from Shiki Taikan, and later learned Suika Shinto from Takeshita Riyuan, Tamaki Isai (1671-1736), Shibukawa Harumi, and Ogimachi Kinmichi. He later learned Neo-Confucianism from Sato Naokata and left Shinto for a time, but returned and disowned Nokata. He retired from his public office in middle age due to eye disease and eventually went blind, but with the help of Tomobe Yasutaka (1668-1740), he furthered his studies of Shinto and reached a deep faith. He wrote many books, including "Jindai-maki Konton-sou." He died on January 27, 14th year of the Kyoho era. He is buried at Gyokuso-ji Temple in Aoyama, Tokyo. 江戸前・中期、垂加(すいか)派の神道家。通称は宮内(くない)、号は光海(てるみ)、重舒斎(じゅうじょさい)。明暦(めいれき)4年2月12日出生。2500石の旗本の出身。初め志貴泰賢より吉田神道を、のち竹下立庵(たけしたりゅうあん)、玉木葦斎(たまきいさい)(1671―1736)、渋川春海(しぶかわはるみ)、正親町公通(おおぎまちきんみち)より垂加神道を学んだ。その後、佐藤直方(なおかた)に朱子学を学び一時神道を離れたが、復帰して直方と義絶した。眼病のため中年公職を辞し、やがて失明するが、伴部安崇(ともべやすたか)(1668―1740)の協力を得て、いよいよ神道の学問は進み、深い信仰に達した。『神代巻渾沌草』ほか著書が多い。享保(きょうほう)14年正月27日没。墓所は東京・青山の玉窓寺。 [谷 省吾 2017年10月19日] [参照項目] | | | |出典 小学館 日本大百科全書(ニッポニカ)日本大百科全書(ニッポニカ)について 情報 | 凡例 |
