Maki (Maki) - Maki

Japanese:
Maki (Maki) - Maki
Among the conifers commonly called podocarps are the Siberian pine of the Cupressaceae family and the Podocarpus serrata of the Podocarpus family. In the Kii Peninsula, Kochi and Miyazaki prefectures, the former is called Honmaki and the latter Inumaki. In the past, the character 柀 was used. Both species have excellent wood resistance, but Honmaki is superior in terms of dignity as a garden tree. [Hamata Toshio]
