Hon-byakusho in fishing villages. Terms such as Hamakata-byakusho, Urakata-byakusho, and Hamamono often refer to hon-gyonin. In addition, in areas of platform net, beach seine, and fishing fishing, they may be called by other names, such as Amikata-byakusho, depending on the presence or absence and number of nets and fishing boats. In any case, they generally refer to members of early modern fishing villages and farmers who pay fishing taxes and can exercise the right to occupy and use the fishing grounds adjacent to their land, and correspond to hon-byakusho registered in land survey books in rural areas. In fact, many early modern fishing villages were separated from coastal rural villages after the establishment of the Goson system in the early modern period.
