The capital of Madhya Pradesh, located in the eastern part of the Malwa Plateau in the western part of the state of Madhya Pradesh in central India. It is a key railway location and a commercial center. It is home to cotton and jewelry industries. It was established in 1728 and was the capital of the princely state of the same name.
