Botrytis

Japanese: ボトリチス（英語表記）Botrytis

A genus of fungi in the subphylum Imperfectomycetes and class Imperfectomycetes. It lives saprophytically, but parasitizes many plants as the cause of gray mold. The conidiophores branch sparsely at the top, and several conidia are formed from the tips by budding. Although it is an imperfect fungus, a sexual form (perfect form) is also known, and the sexual form is considered to be in the genus Botryotinia in the Ascomycetes, Discomycetes, and Scleractinaceae family. It is a pathogen distributed worldwide, causing great damage to strawberries, tomatoes, eggplants, mandarins, and other plants.

不完全菌亜門，不完全糸状菌綱に含まれる1属の菌類。腐生的に生活するが，灰色かび病菌として多くの植物に寄生する。分生子柄は上方で疎に分枝し，先端から数個の分生子を出芽的に形成する。不完全菌類ではあるが有性世代(完全世代)も知られており，有性世代のものは子囊菌類，盤菌綱，キンカクキン科のBotryotinia属とされている。世界的に分布する病原菌で，イチゴ，トマト，ナス，ミカンなどに大きな被害を与える。
