A town in Ogachi County in the southern part of Akita Prefecture. The eastern part is the Yokote Basin, with its vast rice paddies and the area producing a lot of rice. Nishimonai, in the center of the town, has been a commercial area since ancient times, and a market is held on the 2nd, 5th, and 8th of each month.
