…The standard days are the three days of the calendar: Kalendae (the first day of the month), Nonae (the 7th of March, May, July, and October, and the 5th of other months), and Idus (the 15th of March, May, July, and October, and the 13th of other months). The week is the eight-day week called nundinae, which comes from the fact that people worked for seven days and went to the market on the eighth day for trade or recreation.
