A Korean revolutionary born in Hwada. His real name was Park Mun-sang. He was born in Kilju, North Hamgyong Province, but moved to Kapsan County, a remote area just below Mount Paektu, around 1930. He grew up in the left-wing peasant movement, and organized the Kapsan Working Committee (renamed the Korean National Liberation League in January 1937) and cooperated with Kim Il-sung's troops (A Fatherland Restoration Association). In June 1937, in response to the Pochonbo offensive, he was arrested in September 1938 in the Hyesan Incident, and was sentenced to death in the first trial. Due to torture by the Japanese police and seven full years of imprisonment, he remained in bed even after the liberation of North Korea on August 15, 1945, and left behind an autobiographical memoir, "Dawn," out of a desire to do the least he could, even though he was unable to work for the construction of socialism.

朝鮮の火田民出身の革命家。本名朴文湘。咸鏡北道吉州の出身だが1930年ころ白頭山直下の辺境の甲山郡に移住。左翼農民運動の中で成長し，甲山工作委員会(1937年1月朝鮮民族解放同盟と改称)を組織して金日成部隊と連係(祖国光復会)。37年6月普天堡進攻戦に呼応して38年9月恵山事件で逮捕され，一審では死刑を宣告された。日本警察の拷問と満7年に及ぶ獄中生活のため，45年8･15解放後の北朝鮮でもずっと病床にあり，社会主義建設のために働くこともできない自分にせめてできることをとの気持から，自伝的回想記《曙光》等を遺した。
