[1] (Noun) (The translation of dharma-cakra. “Wheel” is an ancient Indian weapon, referring to the Buddha’s righteous teachings that dispel wrong views and defeat evil and are widely disseminated throughout the world.) Buddhism. ※Commentary on the Sūtra of Wisdom (611), Ten Great Awards: “The vessels of wisdom have increased, and the wheel of the Buddha’s law can be turned forever.” ※Konjaku Sutra (maybe around 1120) 1: “If I do not attain enlightenment and the wheel of the law is not turned, then I will not see my father, the king.” [Vimalakirti Sutra, Vol. 1] [2] Abbreviation of “Hōrin-ji (Fairy-Way Temple) (2).” ※Konjaku Sutra (maybe around 1120) 17: “Because I had the ambition to learn, I would always visit the wheel of the law and pray to Bosatsu .”
