1441‐1501 A poet and politician from the Timurid period in Central Asia. While serving as the vizier at the Herat court under Sultan Husayn (reigned 1470-1506), he wrote excellent literary works in Chagatai Turkish, including six long poems in the Masnavi style, four collections of short poems, and a collection of quatrains, and contributed to establishing the status of Turkish as a written language.
