Boumon family

Japanese: 坊門家 - ぼうもんけ

The Northern Fujiwara clan is of the Michitaka line. In the late Heian period, the descendants of Nobutaka's second son Nobukiyo and fifth son Takakiyo each claimed the title of Bomon. Nobukiyo was influential as a maternal relative of the Imperial family (his younger sister Shigeko was the mother of Emperor Gotoba) and a relative of the Shogun family (his daughter was the wife of Minamoto no Sanetomo). His son Tadanobu followed Emperor Gotoba during the Jokyu War and was exiled to Echigo. During the Nanboku-cho period, he served the Northern Court. Takakiyo's descendant Kiyotada was favored by Emperor Go-Daigo, and after the defeat at Minatogawa, he fled to Yoshino and served the Southern Court.

藤原北家道隆流。平安時代末期，信隆の次男信清および5男隆清の子孫がそれぞれ坊門を称する。信清は皇室の外戚 (妹殖子は後鳥羽天皇の母) ，将軍家の姻戚 (女は源実朝の室) として権勢があった。子忠信は承久の乱に後鳥羽院に従い，越後に流された。南北朝時代は北朝に仕えている。隆清後裔の清忠は，後醍醐天皇の寵を受け，湊川の敗戦後吉野に逃れ，南朝に仕えた。
