A practical method for sexual intercourse in the bedroom, a health regimen aimed at extending one's life. The art of lovemaking is described in the section on fangs and lures in the "Yuwenzhi" section of the "Book of Han," and is described as a type of medical art. It was later adopted by Taoism, and became an important technique for achieving immortality along with abstaining from food, eating, regulating one's breathing, and guided walking. This method of longevity is a technique for preventing the loss of physical strength by harmonizing the two energies of yin and yang in the body. Although the art of lovemaking was originally serious, it was easily perceived as obscene because it involved sexual intercourse techniques, and it became the target of attack from Buddhists and ordinary scholars.
