Jaining - Saining

Japanese: 載寧 - さいねい

A county in the eastern part of South Hwanghae Province, Democratic People's Republic of Korea. It is located on the low, flat Jaeryeong Plain, less than 20m above sea level, formed by the Jaeryeong River. It has good water conditions and is one of North Korea's leading rice-growing regions. In addition, iron deposits with a grade of about 55% are widely distributed, and the Jaeryeong Mine, which was opened in the early 20th century, gave rise to the steel industry in nearby Songrim City. Jaeryeong-eup, the center of the county, is home to the intermediate station on the Jangyeong Line, which connects Sariwon and Jangyeong, and is a distribution center for agricultural and livestock products from the Jaeryeong Plain. 朝鮮民主主義人民共和国黄海南道東部の郡。載寧江が形成した高度20m以内の低平な載寧平野に位置する。水利条件がよく北朝鮮有数の稲作地帯である。また，品位55％ほどの鉄鉱床が広く分布しており，20世紀初めに開かれた載寧鉱山を背景として近くの松林市で製鉄業が起こされた。中心地載寧邑は沙里院と長淵方面とを結ぶ長淵線の中間要駅があり，載寧平野の農･畜産物の集散地となっている。【谷浦孝雄】
